A Few Words About Me
Dileep Heilbronn (Dileep Kumar AV) hails from a middle-class farming family in Edappal, Kerala. A Civil Engineer by profession, a self-taught architect, and a sportsman who represented the UAE twice in the World Amateur Golf Finals in South Africa and Turkey. He is a contractor turned luxury property developer in Dubai, running Heilbronn Contractors and Developers.
Another success story from Dubai, Dileep is a self-made Keralite businessman. He is also an Instagram sensation, inspiring millions of youngsters through his page @dileepheilbronn. His followers include many famous celebrities, world-class sportsmen, movie stars, and influencers.
After completing his diploma, Dileep moved to Mumbai in 1990 and then to Dubai in 1991. He climbed the ladder of success through sheer hard work and determination. Starting with a meager salary of AED 900 while living in a labor camp, he worked his way up to become a notable builder in Dubai. He founded Heilbronn Contracting in 2002 and later Heilbronn Properties.
His passion for luxury cars, traveling, and sports made him realize the true purpose of money in life. He focused on achieving everything he had once dreamed of.
Dileep also has a spiritual and philosophical side, which led him to semi-retire at the age of 43 and strike a balance between his personal and business life. This makes him stand out from the typical businessman, earning him a dedicated following worldwide.
Dileep Heilbronn is not your everyday businessman; he is a mix of car lover, traveler, sportsman, author, philosopher, and entrepreneur. He celebrates life, believing that life is too short for rat races and the endless pursuit of wealth.
Prologue
In the cramped living quarters near Santa Cruz station in Mumbai, shared with five others, I reached a breaking point. There was scarcely enough room to move, let alone stretch out for sleep without bumping into someone. The stench from the communal toilet, used by many, was unbearable, forcing us to pinch our noses before entering. I realized I could not take it anymore.
Over the next seven months, I changed accommodations a few times, but none were satisfactory. Sitting outside luxurious hotels, watching pricey cars zoom by, I couldn’t help but wonder: “Will I ever step foot inside or drive one myself?” From childhood, my dream was to live and work in Dubai; the desire had embedded itself deep in my subconscious.
Each day, navigating the crowded Mumbai trains, enveloped in the scent of cheap perfume and sweat, I clung to my dreams. While diligently working as a draftsman at Niranjan Pandya and Harshad Dholakia Architects, I continued to pursue opportunities in Dubai, scanning newspapers and visiting agencies.
Then, fortune smiled upon me. Representatives from UTCC Wade Adams, a prominent engineering contractor in Dubai, offered me a job with a monthly salary of AED 900. I was elated. I resigned from my job in Mumbai and bid farewell to roommates and friends.
